In Dubai Mall, there are those Saudi ladies who keep asking random questions.
I met the same lady 4 times, who asked the exact same question each time.
If you ever meet one of them do
not answer or reply, just walk away.
Why? Well, I was confused when this lady came to me the first time, she was asking about a traditional herbs shop? (العطار), I never knew Dubai mall had one so I apologized and showed her the way to the info desk but she refused to go then randomly explained she just arrived from the airport, then said she had asked about it already and was told there isn't any there. I was already walking away when she followed to thank me and insisted -walking faster towards me- to touch my shoulder.
Second time, it was her again saying the exact same thing, I knew then she was obviously a liar, she couldn't have just arrived again from the airport and just looked for the same place which she has been told doesn't exist. This time she asked me to go with her to the info desk because she doesn't speak English and doesn't understand. I did because it started to frustrate me. The guy at the info desk was an Arab who spoke both languages. She still touched my shoulder the same way!
Third time was a while later, I was fed up already. As soon as she came my way to ask I pretended to not hear, she still talked. I told her I didn't know. She thanked me, walked my way to
touch my shoulder and just disappeared into the crowd.
Fourth time, she was starting her usual conversation with my sister when I found out it was her again and asked her to leave us.
Why does she do that? I mean, I asked if she needed money and she said no.
She said she has come from her country looking for an herbs shop because her son was sick. Why would she come all the way from Saudia Arabia for that while they have the best of those stuff there?
I was telling my Saudi friend about it today. She said those are well-known in their country, they try to deceive girls and actually kidnap them?
Older ladies would ask you to go with them into the elevator because they do not know how to use it.
I'm sure they can kidnap no one at Dubai Mall because it would be ridiculous to do so in front of a crowd of witnesses, plus there are lots of security guys hiding God knows where (other than the ones in the usual security uniform).
Just be careful, you never know what they're thinking. Why would a lady bother asking the same question so many times and act all strange?
The lady I'm talking about wears نقاب سعودي and carries brands' shopping bags. So no, she's not poor-looking. Though the bags could've been empty the whole time
I met her twice in front of Zara, where another friend of mine met her too. I can't remember where I met her the third time, I was in a hurry. Fourth time was in front of Tommy Hilfiger-kids.
Of course, this isn't meant to offend Saudi people nor المتنقبات in any way.
